Top Questions About Our 35mm Slide Transfer Services
1. How much does it cost? Pricing varies depending on the number of 35mm slides. Our pricing calculator can be found here Go To Top2. At what resolution do you scan the 35mm slides? We scan your 35mm slides at 4000 dpi. Go To Top3. Will I be able to edit my movies? Currently, we can not provide a service for 35mm slide customers to edit their footage using the Home Movie Depot Online Editor. If you are interested in editing your slides, the Data DVD included in the transfer will provide you with a JPEG and a TIFF file of every slide. Optional Data CDs are also available. Go To Top4. Will my new CD play on my DVD player? No. A CD-ROM disc is a data disc for your computer. It is not intended for viewing purposes in any DVD player. However, 35mm slide customers who order the additional Slide Show DVD will be able to play the new DVD on a home DVD player. We use brand name DVD-R which has been shown to be the most compatible general use media. Our discs have been found to be compatible with over 95% of home DVD players made in the past three years. In most cases, once your order arrives in our office it will take 48-72 hours to process. *Due to our current high volume, please allow 4-5 business days to process. Depending on your return shipping method, Continental US shipping can take anywhere from 1-5 business days. International shipping runs between 1-2 weeks. Rush service is not available for slide orders. However, expedited shipping is always an option.
6. What slides do you convert? We specialize in 35mm slide film encased in 2" x 2" cardboard holders. The slides must be 110, 126, or 135 format. Regretfully, we can not accept slides encased in metal holders, or slides that are 127 format at this time.
We CAN transfer 110, 126, and 135 format slides.
Movies are not destroyed or damaged in the process. We return everything that you send to us- film, boxes, reels, cans.
We CANNOT transfer 127 format slides.
Go To Top 7. Is it safe? We receive orders from around the world on a daily basis. The slides are not destroyed or damaged in the process. An operator is with your 35mm slide during every step of the process. Movies are not destroyed or damaged in the process. We return everything that you send to us- slides, boxes, and carousels. We recommend ordering at least 2 copies of every transfer so that one copy can serve as your archive copy of the transfer.
10. How many DVDs/CDs or hard drives will I get? How many discs or drives will it take to complete my order? As many as it takes! You do not have to calculate how many CDs/DVDs or hard drives will be needed to complete your order. We only need to know how many complete copies youd like to receive. If your order takes 10 discs or drives to create a complete copy that is what we deliver. The cost of your media is calculated when you place an order - so the number of discs or drives needed will not further affect your price. Go To Top11. I want to edit my new DVD on my home computer. Can I simply drag and drop my DVD files onto my computer? It is possible to edit your new Slide Show DVD footage on your home computer. However, like a commercial DVD, it requires a good deal more than just dragging and dropping the files to your hard drive. Although our DVDs are not encrypted, editing your new DVD would require DVD authoring software which we do not provide and cannot support. If you would like to edit your slides, Home Movie Depot provides every slide customer with a Data CD. Each data CD will contain a JPEG and a TIFF file of each 35mm slide and will should be used in any home editing projects. Go To Top12. How do I order more copies?

14. Do you have any restrictions regarding the content of the 35mm slide? There are several instances where your 35mm slide will be returned without being converted to CD. If we do not transfer the 35mm slide for any of the following reasons, the associated transfer costs will be refunded to your card:
