16mm Film to Video TransferThe FilmThe 16mm film is first cleaned with a non-chemical cleaner designed by Kodak and then passed through the TP-66 projector. The CameraOur RCA TP-66, which has a video camera mounted on the front, conducts your 16mm film home movie to DVD or 16mm film to video. These projectors are professional grade (weighing hundreds of pounds) and were used by TV stations to transfer 16mm film to video, when broadcasting many of your favorite movies. The TP-66 uses a sophisticated 3:2 pulldown to synchronize film to video, avoiding that "jumping" in film which we call flicker - a common problem in film to video transfer. The LightThe film to video transfer operator controls the color, gain and brightness during the process. The built in feed back loop between the camera and projector allows the image to be dimmed based on the amount of light projected into the video camera during film transfer. Further, if a film always has the one scene that is always a little dark, we can shoot more light (than a home projector) through the film when we transfer it so that on the DVD, if the image is there, you will be able to see it. You will see a vast improvement when watching your new home movie DVD than you ever did on a film projector. The TransferThe 16mm movie is transferred with optical or magnetic sound, if present, and then sent to the various recording devices. 16mm home movie to DVD transfers are digitized to the DVD format and first burned to your Basic Package DVD, then saved on our servers for 30 days; allowing you to use our editing tools and purchase more copies. For Digital Tape Package customers, the transfers are immediately recorded on the digital tape format of your choice and then saved in DVD format to allow you to use our editing tools as well. At Home Movie Depot we make your 16mm film transfer as easy for you as possible. There is no better way to transfer your home movie to DVD! After Home Movie Depot transfers your 16mm film, customize your own DVD using the Home Movie Depot Online Editor. Every 16mm film customer will have free access for 30 days after completion of their 16mm film transfer. Using these tools you can add titles, choose backgrounds, and select background music for your new home movie DVD. |
