What is My Online Memories ™?

When you purchase Home Movie Depot’s transfer services, you are completing the first step in ensuring that your memories will be preserved for future generations. If you purchase My Online Memories ™, we will store your home movies on a secure server, and give you access to them via streaming video. You will also be able to order additional copies for friends and family at your convenience.

Why is it important to become a part of the My Online Memories program?

While DVD’s are great, becoming a part of My Online Memories ensures that even if another format becomes the accepted way to watch movies you will be prepared. Also, no one can predict when disaster will strike…it could be a tornado, a hurricane, flooding or simply time, but if any of these things happen to you, your home movies will be protected in a secure location.

How does it work?

All you have to do is sign up when you place your order. Once your media has been digitized, you will be able to view your movies through your account on our website. If you previously had your media digitized by Home Movie Depot, contact us for a quote for this service. Back to top

What can I do with the movies once they are part of My Online Memories™?

You can:

• View them via the internet at any time.
• Share them with friends and family via email and Facebook
• Order additional DVD copies

What are the system requirements?

My Online Memories will operate on most PC and Macintosh internet browsers (example: IE 7 and up, Opera, Firefox 3.x, Safari 3.x, and Google Chrome). The Adobe Flash Player is required.

What file types will you archive?

We will safeguard only the H.264 and your MPEG-2 files. Due to server space constraints we cannot keep AVI files at this time.

What happens when my subscription is up?

Home Movie Depot will notify you that your account will be charged for a the next period, unless you notify us that you want your files deleted. This means that you never have to worry about your precious memories disappearing without your approval. Back to top

How much does it cost?

You have two subscription choices a reoccurring 12 month or 3 month for each DVD you would like to protect.

When does my subscription begin?

Customers who order My Online Memories from their My Account page after their home movies have been digitized, the subscription begins immediately.

For customers who order My Online Memories before their home movies have been transferred to DVD, We will give you a 30 day grace period to send in your movies and have them digitized. If you wait longer to send in your home movies, the time on your account will begin to run.

What can I do with the movies once they are part of My Online Memories™?

Download them as H.264 MPEG-4 files onto any computer. They can then be viewed offline, or transferred to a mobile device.
