When you have Home Movie Depot convert your 8mm, super8, or 16mm film to DVD, you will not be getting files on a DVD, but a whole new home movie experience. Every high quality film to DVD transfer comes with a screening DVD. In addition to Home Movie Depot's high quality film to DVD transfer, a technician will remove any particles from the outside of the film, repair any old splices, and inspect the strength of the film.
When you place your order, you will have to commit to a title. This title will appear on the DVD label and in the menu screen. Be sure to proof read your titles before submitting the order, to make sure that the home movie title is correct!
Your new home movie DVD's menu screen will also display two options: play or scene selection. The scene selection menu screen will display your motion image thumbnails.
To help you navigate through your new home movie DVD, Home Movie Depot will represent each of your chapters with thumbnails. However, the thumbnails are more than just isolated pictures. They are actually mini-movies! A 10 second clip of your home movies in that chapter will play in the thumbnail window.
Each reel in your order will be a chapter on your home movie DVD. If you have spliced small reels onto larger reels we can make a separate chapter for each small reel. You must make this request when you send in your film and the individual reels must be separated by at least 12 inches of leader.
When you choose Home Movie Depot to transfer 8mm, super8, or 16mm film, you will receive a fully authored DVD to enjoy for years to come.
